Founded in 2007 by brothers Jeff and John Vollbracht, Westridge Mechanical has carved out a niche in heavy-duty industrial fabrication, installation and repair — delivering full-service metalwork from their shop to sites across Southeast Iowa, Northeast Missouri and Western Illinois.

With a tight-knit crew of 10-15, the Westridge team handles all aspects of a project: fabrication, installation and testing. No juggling multiple contractors. No guessing who did what. Just industry professionals who know how to get it done right the first time.
Their wheelhouse is custom industrial work: stainless platforms with chemgrate decking, stainless steel safety rails, machine guarding, hoppers, conveyors, dust collection piping — you name it. Whether it’s a food-grade facility or a steel foundry, they can design it, build it and install it. And they genuinely enjoy the challenging, one-of-a-kind projects.
“Each one is kind of unique in itself. They all have their own little gremlins, so to speak,” said Dan Willer, shop supervisor. “That’s what keeps it interesting. We get asked to do a lot of different things that I don’t think a lot of other contractors would entertain doing, and it ends up giving us more work and taking on to different paths on the jobsite.”
That mindset has earned Westridge longstanding relationships with major industrial customers, including Roquette America and Conagra. And they’re just as eager to prove themselves to new clients.
“We’re always looking to grow our customer base,” Willer said. “Give us one small job. We’ll handle it and show you what we can do.”
They’re also committed to building the next generation of tradespeople and being honest about what the work is like.
“If you’re interested in maybe doing different things every week, this is the place for you. But you have to be willing to work and sweat and get dirty each and every day,” Willer said. “It’s a good way to make a living without having to go to college, and when you turn out as a journeyman you’re making a head-of-household wage. When you go through the apprenticeship program, you pretty much have your career set out right in front of you.”
Hard work, high standards and a crew that sticks together — that’s the Westridge Mechanical difference. See recent projects and learn more about Westridge Mechanical’s services at www.westridgemech.com, or contact Shop Supervisor Dan Willer at danw@westridgemech.com.
